Granny Sacks

I know the title of this post sounds a little silly, but that is the affectionate name I have given these little purses.

Goodness, are they simple to make. I have made several for people who have used them as beach totes, purses, and a place to carry dolly clothes:). Last year, I whipped up a few for party favors to each girl who attended.
The pattern and inspiration are from this book:

It well worth it to have it on your book shelf. There are a gazillion pretty ideas for gift and household items. Here is just a smattering of what you will find flipping through the pages.

I just adore the little flower pin on the bag!
How fun is that?

The instructions are easy to follow and the possibilities for fabric are endless. I bought the bamboo rings off of Ebay and they were relatively inexpensive. Lily and I both have one and we love having it handy for quick trips. They also make wonderful gifts!

Granny sacks! So pretty. And I can just imagine the satisfying click of those wooden handles clacking against one another.
