Honey and Butter Biscuits

I woke this morning and thought about my strapping 15 year old son, who is 6 ft. 2in. and 190 pounds.
He is growing so much and needs a filling breakfast to last throughout the morning.

Light, fluffy, flaky biscuits were my answer to a cold, snowy morning breakfast.

This breakfast is lovely and filling.
Perfect with eggs or bacon and quick to make.
 Honey and Butter Biscuits
{Makes 12 biscuits}

2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
1 cup milk

extra butter

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
In a large bowl, sift dry ingredients twice.
Add in butter. I like to use my fingers first to incorporate the butter to flour mixture, then use a pastry cutter.
You should have a mix that looks like coarse sand when you are done.
Add milk and stir until a soft ball forms.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for no more than 30 seconds.
Roll 1/2 inch think and cut biscuits out  with a 2 inch diameter biscuit cutter.
Bake until well risen and slightly golden, about 10-12 minutes.
Remove from oven, split in half.
Top one side with a pat of butter, and the other with a dollop of honey.
Put halves together and enjoy!

 Have a wonderful Monday!

Oh, YUM, indeed!!!! It is not cold and snowy here but those biscuits would still taste just as good!! Thank you for sharing the recipe. I went to a Boy Scout banquet Saturday night for my oldest grandson who is 11. I haven't seen him since Christmas but he is now as tall as I and SO grown up!! How does this happen seemingly overnight??

That's a big boy!

My baby brother - who will be turning 21 tomorrow! - has been so tall for so long. I think he was probably this same height at the young age of 15, as well. I'm pretty positive my bro is 6'7"... we call him the gentle giant. You should see my brother step into our farmhouse - there are several doorways where he literally has to duck to get through and ceiling fans - watch out for those!!

Yumm!! Lucky kid getting biscuits first thing in the AM for breakfast.

In England these are scones and biscuits are cookies :) Here scones are perfect with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Belated Happy Birthday to your son - the time flies so fast!

Made these last night for dinner and used some for egg biscuits this morning. YUM! They are not too sweet, which makes them more adaptable. :) Thanks for sharing!
