Aren't these little lambies just so darling?
I had to share them with you because a couple of my kids put them together the other night.
They are a sweet treat and a sweet Valentine!
(Original idea from Thriving magazine.)
Recipe:
7-8 cups crispy rice cereal
1 stick butter (1/2) cup
1 package mini marshmallows (save a few)
1 tsp vanilla
For the decorating:
1 small tube of black decorator icing.
a few saved mini marshmallows
stick pretzels
wax paper
ribbon
paper
Melt butter in pot on medium heat.
Add marshmallows and vanilla and stir until melted. Your mixture will look like a gooey mess.
Remove from heat as soon as marshmallows are melted.
Add cereal and mix well with a wooden spoon.
Wait about 4-5 minutes before handling....it will be hot!
Lay out a sheet of wax paper on your counter.
Mold the body of the lambie and a small head.
Stick them together and set on the wax paper.
Cut a mini marshmallow in half for the ears and add.
When completely cooled (1 hour) add eyes and nose with piping and pretzel legs.
*Be sure to use the whole pretzel for the legs and push them in as far as they will go!
I only had broken pretzels....and look what happens!
Poor little lambies fall down.
Haha :).
You can add a sweet message, like "God loves ewe!" or "Will ewe be my Valentine?"

What a sweet idea! I love that the lamb can be used as a symbol for the sacrifice of Christ and St. Valentine's devotion!
You are right, these are so darling and would make a lovely valentines treat - or anytime! xx
These are adorable!! They would be great for Sunday School snacks! Or for grandchildren!

Dear Julia,
As a grandmother, the gift of playing with your grandchild comes so naturally. A beautiful and time honored advise from Pope Francis rings true always! Our children need us fully present to love, play, and to just be at one with their beautiful souls.
