Simple Things

A cup of English Breakfast tea in a warm mug.
An assortment of new and old treasured magazines = a small few minutes of my day to refresh and inspire.
It's one of my favorite things to do.

Some of my favorite magazines...

Do you have a simple thing that adds joy to your day?

This reminds me of my time in college, when I often went to the bookstore to study. When I needed a break, I'd wander over to the cooking/gardening/decorating section and browse the beautiful books and magazines there, dreaming of a (at the time) very different life!

Wow -- yes a country magazine or two are fun and get to go through on rare occasion. Either collected from a friend to borrow or while at a doctor's office...

one of my fav's is to sit and settle into a mess of cookbooks. :)

with a cup of coffee, of course!

or - and, this too!
I like to wake up earlier than the kids and sit with my coffee and the soft music of our Inspirational (local) Christian radio station... and catch up on reading. :)

I love that first photo - sooo relaxing and yes, as Bevy said - switch out that tea for coffee and that could be my house...though I do enjoy a cup of tea in the fall...not sure why...that's just my tea season! ;)

Simple things I enjoy...I have been pondering that lately...and thinking of simple things that delight my senses...possibly going to do a post soon on that... just taking time to notice the little things that tickle the fancy of your senses, sight, sound, taste... simple joys but so joyfiled! :)

Love to be up early and read. The old magazines were so much better than most are today! I really miss Country Home!

For years, I love reading on the porch.. Country living was my fav, but its changed a bit, still good but different.. Nothing more relaxing than porch reading with a good beverage, diet coke is my choice but lemonade is too. Some of my sweetest memories with my daughter is when I would make a tray of goodies, such as crackers and cheese, or finger sandwiches on cute plates and we would have girly time. I started this when she was only 4 now gonna be 17 in a few days.. she still talks about it. Cherished time with a child cannot be beat. Enjoy love all this goodness.. Happy Mothers day early...

Hi Julia, nothing like snuggling up on the couch with a lap full of my favorite magazines while slipping a hot cup of coffee or tea.
