The Little Cottage Coop

The little Cottage Coop is finally finished...thanks to my dear Hubby. He is so very talented and made this for me out of scrap lumber and materials. I think it turned out better than I could have imagined!

We designed the coop around this antique door. I fell in love with the handle. Isn't it sweet?

My Mom was nice enough to give me three of her old windows. Darren framed them in and we made it look like they open.
I added the panes by gluing small wood strips on from the inside.

I love the rustic hardware.

Here are the nesting boxes. We made a slanted roof with tin on it so the girls won't roost on top. They still try, though:).

Gertie seems to enjoy the cozy place to lay her eggs.

On the back, we added a door that the kids can flip down and gather the eggs. If the girls are still busy laying, they can just secretly slip their hands underneath and check.

Even Lily can do it by herself.

Hope you enjoyed the tour of the coop!

Have a great day:).
